Theme Project

In recent years, young people have often felt confused about future development and the way forward, and have been unable to fully realize their potential. Such a social environment often makes teenagers become negative, even have emotional problems, and feel hopeless about the future.  Lions Club of Central hopes that through various activities, it will not only bring new knowledge to young people, but also provide them with an opportunity to display their talents, balance their lives, and better adapt to different environments and face challenges. In addition, adolescents need to connect with others and gain approval from others. Therefore, in the “Flying Youth” series of activities, we provide opportunities to interact with others, learn to connect and develop their own strengths.

Lions Club of Central visited Hong Kong Neuro-Muscular Disease Association Limited’s new centre at Tai Wo Hau Estate in April 2022.  We distributed 200 sets of electric health pot to their members as annual party gifts.

The fifth wave of pandemic continues to be severe and has been making significantly impacted on ordinary citizens, challenging their daily lives in different aspects. The pandemic has posted an even bigger impact on the living of underprivileged. Many low-income people live from hand to mouth. They do not only face difficulties to feed their families, but also encounter a huge burden from purchasing anti-pandemic supplies.

Lion Club of Central makes every effort to provide anti-epidemic materials and a variety of food to support the underprivileged and those affected through Yang Memorial Methodist Social Service. A group of Lion members and volunteer friends have packed 3,000 bags of anti-epidemic materials and emergency food supplies in two days, which worth more than $300,000 would be distributed to 3,000 families, benefiting over 12,000 people.

The 5th wave of COVID-19 outbreak in Hong Kong continues, it has had a deep impact on everyone’s lives and the vulnerable groups are often the first to bear the brunt. In response to the needs of the society, Lion Club of Central makes every effort to provide anti-epidemic materials to support the underprivileged and those affected.  We were donating more than 2,000 sets of Covid-19 rapid antigen test kits and over 12,000 nos of mask to the following associations

  • Hong Kong Neuro-muscular Disease Association
  • The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council
  • Helping Hand
  • Lions College

To promote physical and mental health and encourage members to exercise with the families, We joined Lions Charity Fun Run organised by LCI District 303 on 2 January 2022 held along Ocean Park.

Co-organised by the Lions Club of Central and Chong Lap (H.K.) Co Ltd, a Christmas gifts distribution was held at NAAC Tung Chung Integrated Services Centre. About 50 local families who preregistered for the event were receiving food, toys and gifts for their children.

Co-organized with Cordis Hotel, our club arranged a commendable buffet celebrating Christmas for 50 muscular dystrophy patients and their families. Due to their physical conditions, these patients usually find it difficult to have buffets at a regular restaurant, therefore arranging the buffet in a five-star hotel makes this event especially memorable for them.

We organised a home visit to the elderly on 13 November with the support of the Kowloon City Baptist Church Neighbourhood Elderly Centre. We visited about 50 elderly residents who live alone in Lok Fu Estate. We met and chatted with the residents, and also handed out gift packs of food and daily necessities.

Lions Club of Central hosted elderly party for 120 elders in Ta Ku Ling Kei Lok Community Association. In addition to Hakka traditional food, doctor demonstrated fitness exercises and entertaining performances, all guests had also received gift bags stuffed with goodies and full of our blessings.

Lion Club of Central co-organize with Chong Lap (HK) Co., Ltd. to distributed Mid-Autumn Festvial goody bags to elderlies at Lei Tung Estate NAAC Elderly Centre.
